Event: Snowmobile Safety Training

Description:The Hamel Sno-Runners will offer their annual youth snowmobile training classes beginning January 3rd at the Hamel American Legion Hall. Youths ages 12 to 18 are required to have a safety certificate to operate a snowmobile in Minnesota. Students who are 11 years old may take the class but will not receive their certificate until their 12th birthday. The course will consist of three classes. Classroom training will be offered Tuesday Jan. 3rd at 6:30-9:00pm and Thursday Jan. 5th at 6:30 to 9:00pm. Students must attend both sessions prior to taking a written and driving test on Sat Jan. 7th from 9:00 am to 12pm State trained volunteer instructors from the Hamel Sno-Runners will conduct the classes. A certification fee of $5.00 will charged during the registration process. A copy of the student’s birth certificate is required. Parents will be asked to sign a release waiver on the first night.
